ment the news stories that our present Congressman, D. French Slaughter Jr., views his Democratic opponent, David Smith, seriously. He is so concerned that he turned to his friends for help.
Who were the friends that he turned to for help first? Political Action Committees! Does our threeterm Congressman need their money .to increase his name identification and publicize his record? What has he been doing for the past six years? Do you know? Did his newsletters for the past six years, paid for by us taxpayers, give you any reason to support him?
I, personally, would like to go on record requesting that the PACs give him the money that he requested. We Democrats want Mr. Slaughter to publicize his record. It is not a record to be proud of! Please, Mr. Slaughter publicize your record.
His record is what David Smith is basing his campaign on. Mr. Slaughter does not represent us in Congress! I urge everyone to look at Mr. Slaughter’s record and then to get Mr. Smith’s position and then decide who would better represent them in Washington.
And then to get out on Election Day and vote for that person, whoever it is. Get your family and friends to vote too. I feel confident that you will cast your ballot for David M. Smith.
