Carnival at Amissville
The Amissville fireman’s carnival will be held June 27-30 at the carnival grounds. Wednesday will be family night and you can ride all evening for one low price of $5. Thursday will be the parade beginning at 7 p.m. Crowning of the carnival queen will be held at 11 p.m. on Friday night and the drawing for the grand prize of $1,000 will be held on Saturday. There will be a ride special Thursday-Saturday for $6 each evening. ‘‘Come, bring the entire family and enjoy the rides, games, shows, etc.,” said an organizer. Rides will be provided by West Virginia Amusement Company.
Bus trip planned
The youth group of First Baptist Church in Washington is planning a bus trip to Busch Gardens on June 30. “Come, join the fun,” said an organizer. For additional information and reservations call 9878339.
Hatha yoga classes

Summer reading program

Mother's gathering picnic

Natural History day camp
A 2 week day camp co-sponsored by the Piedmont Environmental Council and the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection offers children ages 7 to 11 an opportunity to discover natural wonders by exploring forest, field, wetland and creek habitat and will be held July 16 to 27 at Meadowbrook Farm in Huntly.
