Among the participants were 1st Lt. Carson Johnson of Sperryville (seated) and Sgt. 1st Class Herschell Blevins Jr. of Amissville. Sgt. Blevins is assisting Lt. Johnson, a recovered “hostage,” with first aid for wounds to his face and arm. The day-long brigade exercise involved roadblock and security training, search and rescue operations, first aid and patrolling.
