Soccer day camp

Woman's Club to meet
The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet on Tuesday, June 26 at 8 p.m. at the home of Barbara Burke near Sperryville. All members are urged to attend.
Weaver family reunion
The families of the late Mark and Alberta Weaver will hold a reunion on Sunday, June 24 at Rappahannock Park near Washington. Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m. All relatives and friends are urged to attend and bring a picnic lunch.
Ladies Auxiliary to meet
The Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary will meet on Tuesday, July 10 instead of the meeting scheduled for Monday, July 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the fire hall. All members are urged to attend.
Test pressure canners
Free tests of dial pressure canner gauges will be offered Friday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Extension Office. It’s that time of the year for all home canners to have their dial pressure canner gauges checked. Home Extension Agent Helen Smith will be borrowing the Pressure Canner Gauge Tester from Culpeper to test gauges. Remember, you only need to bring your lid.
Setti's paintings shown
A one-woman exhibition of realistic landscape oil paintings by native Virginia artist Drema A. Setti is hanging in the Middle St. Gallery this month. Ms. Setti has visited several of the state’s rural, mountainous areas and produced paintings with a strong emphasis on color and spatial arrangement. Gallery hours are Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and by appointment. For information, call 675-3440.
RAAC Talent Show June 30
The Annual Rappahannock Talent and Variety Show will be held at the Gay Street Theater in Washington on Saturday, June 30 from 7 p.pn. to 9 p.m., The show will feature dancers, opera, folk, gospel, poetry readings, piano solos and much much more. Come to this funfilled evening featuring talented individuals from Rappahannock and surrounding counties. Tickets are only $5 and will be sold at the door. 'Enemies, A Love Story'
The movie Enemies, A Love Story will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Set in 1949 in Coney Island, the Bronx and Manhattan, the characters all have been irrevocably touched by the Holocaust. For Herman Broder, tragedy has improbably landed him in a situation resembling a bedroom farce. . .he ends up with three wives. Enemies is a kind of ghost story about people who’ve lost their lives but somehow go on living. In scene after scene, this wise and invigorating movies catches you by surprise. The movie is rated R. The theater is now air conditioned.
Benefit softball tournament
The mothers of the Rappahannock Athletic Association will sponsor a softball tournament on Saturday, June 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stuart Field in Amissville. Admission will be 25 cents, and concession will be available. All proceeds will benefit the Rappahannock Athletic Association’s Little League program.
