Miss Heidi Margaret deGroot was married to Mr. Lindsay Willoughby Green Eastham on Saturday, May 12 at six o’clock in the evening at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. The marriage was performed by the Reverend Jennings Wise Hobson, III.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Traver Abernathy Cowles, Junior of Branford, Connecticut and Mr. Ernst Willem deGroot of Catlett. She was given in marriage by her father. Her grandparents are Mr. Guy P. Bennett and the late Mrs. Bennett of Vienna and Mr. and Mrs. Joahann deGrott of Blommery, West Virginia.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lindsay Eastham of Washington . His grandparents were the late Colonel and Mrs. Charles Willoughby King, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Marion Eastham, Senior of Rappahannock County.
Mrs. Eastham wore an anitque empress satin gown featuring an open portrait neckline veeing in the back and accented with satin rosettes. Her three-quartered length sleeves and basque waistline, which flowed into a chapel length train were all edged in satin piping. She wore a headpiece featuring satin embroidered flowers and a full length veil trimmed in pearls. She carried white roses, blue freesia, white astilbie and ming fern.
