Red Sox 15, Astros 13
On Saturday, June 9, the Red Sox came from behind to beat the Astros 15-13 at Stuart Field in a game delayed by rain in the fourth inning.
The Astros scored three runs in the first inning and held on until the Red Sox erupted for seven tallies in the third frame.
The Astros were batting in the home half of the fourth when the skies opened up, delaying the game for about 30 minutes.
When play resumed, the Astros regained the lead on steady hitting by Tony Fotenos, Anthony Hawkins and Andy Grimsley. Their offensive effort enabled the Astros to hold an 11-7 edge after five innings.
But the Red Sox were not through yet, exploding for eight runs in the visitor’s half of the sixth to ice the contest.
Winning pitcher Jason Brown went the distance for the victory as the Red Sox improved their record to 3-7 while the Astros fell to 4-6.
