On a motion by Sid Gottlieb, seconded by Jennifer Matthews, the BZA granted the Cooks a variance requiring that the house be at least 25 feet from each side line and 50 feet from the center of the road.
The second variance was for a lot in Chester Gap owned by Lisa and Jospeh Ordile.
The lot is zoned Village Residential which requires 20 foot setbacks on each side. The lot is 80 feet wide, and the Ordiles want to put a 44-foot wide house on it.
“It’s a minimal variance request, County Administrator John McCarthy said.
“The issue is whether we want to give ^ variance of two feet on each side,” Mr. Gottlieb said.
“Every lot owner up there could come in and request a variance,” Chairman L. G. “Butch” Zindel said. “A lot of people put two or three lots together.”
The 28 by 44 foot house has been approved for a loan. Mr. Zindel suggested that since the house is to be “stick built” it could be changed to a 28 by 40 foot house.
