The American Angus Association began the program in 1957, becoming the first beef herd organization to offer its members a production records program.
The Association, with more than 24,000 active adult and junior members, is the largest beef cattle registry association in the world. Its computerized records contain information on nearly 11 million registered Angus cattle, according to Mr. Spader.
