ALEXANDRIA — A recently unsealed affidavit by Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent David E. Larson reveals new details of the government’s investigation of Marshall resident Kenneth Warren Allison, who faces two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Allison is being held without bond in Alexandria on the two federal gun charges.
The affidavit, unsealed on a defense motion Jan. 4 in U.S. District Court in Alexandria, was sworn by Larson in front of a federal magistrate on Nov. 8. Based on the affidavit, the magistrate authorized the Nov. 11 search of Allison’s primary residence, Route 2, Box 527, Marshall. Other homes were searched simultaneously, but Larson’s affidavit pertains only to Allison’s residence.
The affidavit relates several details of the FBI investigation, including the use of a telephone wiretap on Allison’s phone, the use of several confidential informants, and other allegations regarding alleged cocaine trafficking by Allison and others.
According to the affidavit, the first confidential informant “has maintained a personal relationship with [Allison] for the past three years and has witnessed Allison distributing cocaine to at least 50 eoconspirators during that time. [The informant] has also observed Allison snorting cocaine on numerous occasions.”
“On certain occasions,” according to Larson’s statement, the informant “has observed Allison utilizing a balance beam scale at the Marshall residence to divide ‘two to three cups full’ of cocaine into gram amounts, which Allison packaged separately.” That informant also said, according to Larson, that “Allison buries quantities of cocaine underground in the vicinity of Allison’s Marshall residence.”
