On Tuesday, Mr. Jenkins reported that crews were still busy cleaning up the debris left from the storm. At the height of the storm, the crews merely got te roads cleared, and now must go back and remove the limbs and trunks from the roadsides where they were left.
Eunice Butler reported that the county’s highway department employees put in 909 man-hours between Jan. 14 and Jan. 19. That included, Mrs. Butler said, time spent clearing the roads of snow and ice early in the week, as well as the work they did during the ice storm last weekend.

The Landscape Design School of the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs, Course II, Series 14, will be conducted Feb. 8-10 at the Richmond Centre in the Tredegar “B” Lecture Room during the Maymont Flower and Garden Exposition.
Participants are urged to register promptly as there is limited space and applications will be accepted as of the date received. Priority will be given to persons enrolled with full tuition pf $45.
