Soonie Turner

Soonie James Turner, 79, of College Park, Md., died Jan. 11 in the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.

The funeral was conducted Jan. 16 at the Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Jackson and Pastor John Pendleton. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Turner was bom April 29, 1911, in Huntly, the son of the late William and Sarah Russel Turner. He was retired from the American Viscose of Front Royal and Zalco Realty Co. of College Park. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the Blue Ridge Council Chapter .84 and he was a member of the American Legion Post . 174. He also was the past Virginia State president of the I.B.P.O.E. He was active Exalted Ruler Council. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of St. Luke . 312, a member of the Pride of Warren Elks Lodge .486 and a member of
