Mr. Miller suggested that it should follow some logical pattern, such as the system used for numbering interstate highways.
• Heard from Mr. Fisher, the town treasurer, that the town’s budget is right on track for the first six months of the current fiscal year. He said that the Water Authority is slightly behind on revenue, but added that spring and early summer produce the highest usage and he predicted the approximately $1,800 shortfall would be made up then.
Mr. Miller requested that Mr. Fisher keep a close eye on income from the town’s 2 1/2 percent meals and lodging tax, since a downturn in the economy could affect the largely tourist-based tax, which accounts for the bulk of the town’s revenue.
