The USD A has announced that the 10th Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) signup will take place March 4-15.
During this period producers will be able to place .,bid^ for enrolling cropland acreage in the 10-year program. In exchange for implementing approved conservation practices, such as establishing permanent vegetative cover or planting trees, the producer receives annual rental payments and may receive additional funds to help cover the cost of implementing the approved practice.
The bidding process for CRP has been modified under the new Farm Act. Bids will be accepted that do not exceed comparable cropland rental rates in the county, but bids will be evaluated in a nationwide pool according to the environmental
