The music opens with a nervous, somewhat frenzied development, apparentaly expressing the Erinnyes uncertainty about what will happen. Gaea’s hymn is reassuring and melodic. Apollonian themes portray Apollo as a kind of belt-way, gridlock force, at best, a champion of horse racing and casino fast living.
