Robert Thornton
Robert W. Thornton of Castleton died on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 1991 at the Fauquier Hospital.
Mr. Thornton was bom in 1925 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was employed for many years with the National Bureau of Standards and the Harry Diamond Laboratories. Later he worked at Vint Hill Farm Station before retiring.
Mr. Thornton was nationally recognized for his involvement in the world of boat racing.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a stepson.
Margie Baldwin
Margie Virginia Baldwin, 65, of Luray died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 1991 at Page Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Baldwin was bom Feb. 23, 1925 in Page County, the daughter of the late Luther Tillman and Rosie Jane Dodson Weaver. She was a member of Rileyville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel M. Baldwin, formerly of Rappahannock; two sons, James M. Baldwin of Hampton and John M. Baldwin of Luray; a daughter, Joan M. Harris of Montgomery, Ala.; one brother, Floyd E. Weaver of Columbus, Ga.; three sisters, Virgie Seal of Rileyville, Leia Bell Henry of Bentonville and Anna Marie Seal of Limeton and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 23 at Rileyville Baptist Church with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Bradley Funeral Home in Luray was in charge of the arrangements.
