“Soon we were sold out and extended,” Frank said, adding they hope for the same success in Washington.

While things were productive in dinner theater, the Krens were becoming bored with choices for dinner theater topics. “It nearly has to be comedy,” Frank said, adding dinner theater is usually jovial and entertaining.

This and the imminent arrival of young Ryan promoted the move south as the Krens hoped to find a different life for their young child than that offered by a city of millions.

During an afternoon drive from their Manassas home, they happened upon Washington.

“We just fell in love with it, all. We could not believe it was here, or the theater,” Sheree said, adding, with haste they contacted Rappahannock Association for Arts and the Community (RAAC) and began plans for the move. „

“RAAC is really responsible for us getting our foot in the door,” Sheree said, adding they offered satistics on the turnouts for previous productions and organized a meeting with theater owner Wendy Weinberg. "“In return we are donating a portion of each ticket sold to RAAC for donation to any artist with need,” Frank offered.

“It’s all very exciting to us,” Sheree said. “We love theater, that’s the only reason we do this. We’ve no government funding. It’s all private money donated from family, friends and ourselves. We want to make this happen,” she concluded.

Each production will decide. Already, the couple is looking for professional theater help for the May play but the March comedy remains the topic of discussion.

Work on is running smoothly on schedule, though the Krens agreed they’ve given this play production time an extension.

“We’ll be back to two months for the next performance,” Frank said with a slow smile.
