Juniors take to the turf in the sixth race of the day. Eleven of them will don silks, including large pony competitors Amy Gable on Beau Brummel, Charles Conaway III on Zsa Zsa, Mark Lloyd on El Cassey, Johanthan Kiser on Cindy Lou, Kelly Jaske on Sooner or Later, danielle Brewster on Go Flight, and John DeMichele on Jack Straw.
Small pony riders will be Kelly Conaway on Natalie, Asheley Farland on Famley Whist, and Kevin Selby on medium pony Scuttlebutt.
The two flat races have drawn 28 entries apiece. Horses on tap in the open flat include Kool Mars, Eyre Apparent, Nordic Jove, Faravon, Grandma Sue, Tuniche, Brave Dad, Key to the Dungeon, Big Estero, Hot Rodder, Young Rodney, Frontal Attack, Eventful Nashua, and Paravon.
The day opens with a pair race event at 10 a.m. and ends with the Jack Bruce Memorial Hound Race, in which 100 foxhounds will race over a course dragged with fox scent.
General admission is $5 with children under 12 years of age admitted free. Parking is $5 as well. j
