Storytelling for everyone
If you want to work on your storytelling skills for friends, grandchildren, students in school, or to liven up your business meetings, join us Wednesday evenings at the Town Hall. Participants will work on true stories, folktales and myths, learning to shape a story, storytell with ease, and discover a personal style of storytelling. There will be an informal concert of storytelling for friends in March. An on-going group of Rappahannock storytellers will be formed from this workshop. Led by Julie Portman. Wednesday evenings, 6:30-8:30 p.m., March 6th-27th; monthly fee $40; advance registration $35; members $30.
Christian aerobics
Aerobics exercise to contemporary Christian music is being offered to women in the community at Washington Baptist Church at 9:15 a.m. every Thursday morning. There is no charge and children are welcome to attend with their mothers. The music is uplifting and the exercise will help you with those New Year’s resolutions. Sperryvilie gun lottery
The second annual gun lottery sponsored by the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department is underway. Tickets are $30 each and good for 52 weeks with a gun being given away each week. For more information call 987-8683 or 987-8124.
Recycle aluminum cans
The Chester Gap Junior Fire Department members are recycling aluminum cans. If you have any cans and would like to help them please leave them at the Chester Gap fire hall or call 635-5482 or 6357273.
Adult acting classes
Olde Towne Theatre Company has moved their Adult Acting Class from Town Hall to the newly named The Theatre at Washington, Virginia (formerly the Gay Street Theatre). Class is held Tuesday evenings 7:30 to 9:30 and is open to on-going enrollment. Fee is $25 monthly. Call 703-675-1157.
Improvisation classes to begin
Improvisation classes with Dancing Reed including dance, voice and storytelling will be held on Mondays, starting March 11. The class will use personal stories, dreams and folklore to focus on performance skills and each person’s unique view of the world.
