The first week of summer is past and already county youngsters are making familiar the term “I’m bored.”
Keeping young minds and bodies occupied can alleviate some of the familiar summer boredom.
Camps, arts and exercise are offered in this area and outside the county throughout the summer months.
Paints, pottery and tie dyes are part of the Middle Street Gallery arts and crafts camp for children six to 12 years old.
Rappahannock County artists Janet Kerig and Laurie Marshall are instructors for the course and enrollment is limited.
While one week may not be enough for some, the day camps are offered in three different sessions.
Ms. Kerig conducts two sessions open to 10 students each — the first, costing $44, beginning July 1 and the second, costing $55, Aug. 5-9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Contact Ms. Kerig at 987-8670 for information.
Ms. Marshall instructs one course from July 29 through August 2 from 9 a.m. to noon. The $25 course is open to 12 students and scholarships are available. Contact Ms. Marshall at 675-3267 for more information.
