John and Patty Alexander of Flint Hill participated in the Old Dominion 100 Mile Bicentennial Ride June 12 in Loudoun County and were among the 26 who completed the ride. They placed fifth and ninth, respectively. It is a high honor to finish within the top ten. A special Bicentennial silver buckle was awarded all who finished and one buckle will be put into a museum in Loudoun County. The die was then destroyed, making the buckles all the more valuable.
