Ki Theatre holds benefit
With arts funding in Virginia slashed to almost nothing during the last session of the General Assembly, the Ki Theatre is approaching the problem head-on, holding a benefit dinner and performance at the home of Rick and Lindy Hart in Hume Saturday night.

4-H Center music starts
The U.S. Navy band Country Currents will begin the summer of music at the 4-H Center amphitheater at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 23.
The concert, sponsored by the Blue Ridge Arts Council, Warren County and the Virginia Commissjon for the Arts, is free to the public.
The 4-H Center is located between Chester Gap and Front Royal on U.S. 522.
In case of rain, the summer's amphitheater shows will be held at Randolph-Macon Academy in the Melton Gym. Call 703-635-9909.
Belle Grove artists sale
The Artists Society of Belle Grove offers the sale of oils, watercolors and drawings through Friday, June 28.
Belle Grove Plantation, in Middletown, is a house museum of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Call 703-869-2028.
Movie: 'Reversal of Fortune'
The Sunday night movie showing at The Theatre at Washington, Va. this week is "Reversal of Fortune," the story of the Von Bulow trial, at 7:30 p.m.
The movie, rated R, is based on the book by Alan Dershowitz.
Glenn Close stars with Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons in the suspenseful, first-hand portrayal of the crime and two men's efforts to demolish the prosecution's case and reverse the jury's devastating verdict.
Having the brain-dead heiress narrate the film is one of the clever, unsettling and even brilliant ideas that drive this black comedy.
Other movies coming up at the theater are "Sleeping with the Enemy," June 30; "Defending Your Life," July 7; "Vincent and Theo," July 14; "Shipwrecked," July 21 and "Guilty by Suspicion," July 28.
