“There are slews of camps for children and many are still taking applications,” Rappahannock County extension agent, agriculture, Tommy Williams said of the variety of camps offered at the 4-H Educational Center.
The center, located just outside Front Royal off U.S. 522, offers a variety of events for children throughout the summer.
Dates, locations and costs for all the camps — like junior horse camp which begins June 23 for youths ages nine to 13 years old — are provided through the local extension office.
For information on camps like the Science Camp, which provides campers 11 and 12 years the chance to explore the world of science, while rock climbing and caving provide older children a chance to see the world of High Adventure Camp from July 21-25, contact the local office at 675-3619.

Camps are not just for kids. Children and parents can discover a new relationship together during the Parent-Child Camp and teens can discover “a changing world, a changing you” during Junior High Camp from Aug. 25-29.
And while camping is not for everyone, others may enjoy the 4-H center’s recreational facilities.
