“Sometimes there are a few more and sometimes a few less but they average out to about three or four,” he said.
“I started the month by saying June was out to show May what it could do, and it has so far, with the hot temperatures and dryness,” he said with laughter.
Total rainfall for the first part of the month of June is 3.57 inches of rain, with .25 of an inch on Sunday, .26 of an inch on Monday and .67 of an inch on Tuesday.
“The average rainfall in June over the past 10 years is 3.34 inches of rain,” Mr. Wingfield said, adding over the past 10 years only three Junes have provided more than that amount, with June 1982 providing the most — a very wet 6.94 inches.
