Council member Mark Bailey said he favors having a town resident on the board above any non-resident, regardless of credentials. Susan Parrish, however, seemed to speak for other members of the Town Council when she said, “I think they need professional guidance.”
Council member Ray Gooch said an architect was a valuable asset to the board. “I’d like to see the board respected more than it is now,” he said, adding that Mr. Haffler improved the quality of discussion while he served.
Mr. Bailey nominated Mr. Barton for the Maul to/tiU 'Mr. Hefner’s seat, saying Mr. < Barton had^lealt with the ARB from the “other side"of the fence, so he may have s6me insight.”
