The Rappahannock Grand Jury met Monday, Jan. 13 and issued the following indictments: Sheila Wright, for petty larceny; Bridgette Hoffman, for petty larceny; Wendie Dee Morrison, Chester Gap, three amended indictments for knowingly making a false application for assitance; Daniel Allen Pullen, 20, of Washington, Va., for destruction of private property, discharging a firearm along a road, and discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle; Lynn Edward McFarland, 19, of Washington, Va., for destruction of private property and discharging a firearm while in a motor vehicle; and Carroll Weaver, 22, of Amissville, for breaking and entering and two counts of theft.
In other police and court news this week:
• The Rappahannock Sheriffs Office is investigating two break-ins along the Shade Road (Route 622) that they think may be related, according to Sheriff John H. Woodward.
Between Jan. 3-Jan. 6 a total of $2,960 worth of property was taken during a break-in on Route 622. Among the stolen items were a Sony 13-inch color TV, a Sony VHS VCR, a Nakaimichi CD player, an ATT phone, a Panasonic answering machine, a McCullough chainsaw, a Baldor bench grinder, a Dayton hedge trimmer, a Sony clock radio, a Homelite weed eater and a red wheelbarrow, believed to be used in the burglary.
