Junior Panthers on roll
The Junior Panther basketball team upped it record to 3-1 after winning two close contests this week. In a 34-29 victory over Strasburg Jan. 7 Jon Butler poured in 19 points and Jason Brown added 10. Rappahannock used three different full-court presses to force numerous turnovers, said Coach Leake.
In a 39-36 win over Stonewall Jan. 10 Butler had 14, Brown 10 and Mark Jenkins six points to lead Rappahannock. The most telling statistic was the Junior Panthers’ phenomenal 22-of-34 free-throw shooting, unheard of at that level.
