Albert Compton

Albert Harrison Compton, 73, of Ami8sville, died Monday, Jan. 13 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.

Mr. Compton was a native of Rappahannock, the son of the late Marion and Polly Jane Cloud Compton. He was retired from Arlington County Schools and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Horton Compton; three sons, Jimmy Lee Compton of Flint Hill, Thomas Daniel Compton of Amissville and William Harrison Compton of Culpeper; two daughters, Alice Grigsby of Flint Hill and Mary Catherine Hume of Burr Hill; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and four brothers, Warren E. Compton, E.B. Compton and David Compton^ all of Castleton and Charles Compton of Front Royal.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper with the Rev. Clyde Woodard officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call at the GeestJohnson Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Jan. 16.
