Learned that the town Planning Commission and ARB will hold another work session on the Historic District Ordinance at 7 p.m. Jan. 16 in the Rappahannock Courthouse.
The work session may be the last one before a series of public hearings on the document.
• Was updated by Mr. Gooch on the first day of county-wide recycling at the Washington Vol. Fire Co. site on Warren Avenue. Mr. Fisher had the honor of being the first participant. A total of 24 persons showed up in the bad weather, including 17 non-town residents and two townspeople who had never recycled before.
"One man from the Madison County line area said it was a 60mile round trip” to Amissville, said Mr. Gooch.
After more than two years of establishing and overseeing the recycling program in town, Mr. Gooch has stepped down and will no longer go around on the monthly collections, he informed the council.
• Heard from Town Attorney Frank Reynolds that the town has a signed agreement with Adelphia Cable to provide service. He also informed the council that there has been no action on the Eagle lawsuits.
• Voted to hold a joint public hearing with the Planning Commission on the proposed revisions to the Subdivision Ordinance on Feb. 12. The council will follow that public hearing with another one during its March meeting.
