The Rappahannock Rainforest Action Group (RApXwjll be sponsoring a film and lecture-series once a month in 1992. The firet offering in this series will be at 8 p.m. ^on Thursday, Jan. 23 at the Rappahannock County Library.
The film, “Blowpipes and Bulldozers . . . The Story of the Penan Tribe of Malaysia and Bruno Manser,” will be shown. The film, which was produced in association with the National Geographic Society and the Australian Film Commission, reveals the struggle that tribal cultures face as environmental destruction of their homeland threatens their very existence, and highlights the efforts of one Swiss citizen to bring worldwide attention to this situation.
