The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on granting tax relief to some elderly and disabled homeowners at its Feb. 3 meeting.

Eligible homeowners may be exempt from up to 100 percent of their real estate taxes under the proposed ordinance.

To be eligible a homeowner must be 65 years or older or totally disabled. The eligible homeowner must have no more than $75,0QQin assets other than the house, its ftumishings, and up to one acre of land. Also, eligible participants must have no more than $20,000 in household income.

The exemption would be on a sliding scale. Those with $12,500
