To the Editor:
I would like to respond to the letter last week from Mr. Eldred. In my capacity as director of public relations for the Wakefield School (located in Marshall), it is my job to promote the school whether through advertisements, brochures or press releases. On a weekly basis I send press releases to over 20 area newspapers.
Certainly every paper does not print every article that I submit but, in general, the papers from Fauquier, Rappahannock, and Warren counties do. These papers print the articles because they are of interest to their readers. Our school may have relocated to Fauquier County after our eviction last summer from the site we had occupied for almost 20 years, but the fact is we still have a strong base in Rappahannock County. Thirty-seven percent of our faculty and staff are residents of the county as are almost 20 percent of our students. In addition, our newsletter is mailed to over 200 Rappahannock families who are friends and supporters of the Wakefield School.
