'Roaring 4th' is rolling

Tickets are now on sale for Great Meadow's "Roaring Fourth of July." Anchoring the event will be the traditional Independence Day fireworks celebration. This year, Ruggieri-USA will produce its finest show ever, a fitting finale to a funfilled family event.

The gates will open at 5 p.m., with dinners available on the grounds. For the children, amusements will include hayrides, games and fire truck rides. National champion stunt pilot Earle Andrews will pilot his 400-mph Pitt Special, in a dazzling display of unlimited world-class aerobatics.

Tickets are available at local outlets, and are priced at $20 per car in advance, $30 at the gate. For information, call Great Meadow, 703-253-5001.

Farm Show entries due

The Culpeper-MadisonRappahannock Farm Show will be held July 23-27 at the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises. This annual event is an opportunity for youth - ages 6-19 - and adults to enter their exhibits.

Farm Show catalogues and entry forms are available at the Rappahannock Extension Office. Entry deadline is July 2.

PEC hosts family fair
