Senior citizens camp
Each year the Northern Virginia 4-H Center conducts an annual 4-H camp for senior citizens. The 1992 Seniors Camp will be held the weekend of July 24-26. The weekend program promises to be full of fun-filled educational and recreational activities similar to the ones planned for 4-H youth at regular 4-H camp during the summer months. Registration for the weekend program is $58 and is due July 3. Call 675-3619 or stop by the Rappahannock Extension Office for registration forms and information on the program.
Support group forming
A support group affiliated with the Virginia Head Injury Foundation is now being formed for head ii\jury survivors and their families in this area. If you are interested in joining or helping with the founding of this group call Pat Salmon at 675-3137.
Trip to Myrtle Beach
The Bethel Baptist Church Sunday School and Youth will be sponsoring a trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. Aug. 27-30. Cost for adults is $125 and half-price for children 12 and under. To sign up call Alberta Brown at 9117-5427 or Pearl Groves at 937-4720.
Library Board to meet
The Rappahannock Library Board will meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 23 at the library. The meeting is open to the public.
Beauty pageant at CGVFD
The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department will hold a tiny, little, junior and miss Honorary Fire Chief beauty pageant at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 18. The ages are tiny 2-4, little 5-9, junior 10-14 and miss 16-21. Applications are available now until entry deadline of July 8. Registration fee is $25. Classes offered
Young people are invited to take classes this summer at the Fauquier Campus of Lord Fairfax Community College in Warrenton. Courses include keyboarding, public speaking, watercolor painting, babysitting, and tie-dying. Laurie Marshall will be offering the “Drawing from Your Imagination” class at the Fauquier Camppure from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 12-16 and July 20-23 for grades 4-9. The fee is $15. RAA activities
This year R. A. A. will be hosting the Babe Ruth District Eive, 10 and under, tournament beginning on July 2. Teams will come from several surrounding counties to participate. Our fields are in need of bleachers, dug-outs, and homerun fences.
