Trooper Settle also investigated a one-car accident in the early morning hours of June 27 that resulted in a passenger being charged with possession of a concealed weapon.
Settle reported that Matthew Herring, 28, of Manassas, was driving on U.S. 211, 3V£ miles west of Route 667, when his 1990 Toyota ran off the right side of the road and struck a bank. Herring was not injured, and was charged with reckless driving.
Susan Fountain, 22, of Warrenton, was a passenger in Herring’s car, according to Settle’s report. She was injured in the accident and taken to Fauquier Hospital for treatment.
Settle said her purse was left in the car, and when he looked inside for her identification, he discovered a loaded .22 caliber pistol. Ms. Fountain was charged with possession of a concealed weapon.
