I do not require that anyone accept my definition of meditation. I believe that it is a quiet time one spends with oneself in complete comfort in the belief that all is right with the world. It is something everyone should do for a little while every day.
I am also convinced that the average person has to take a terrible beating before the self can accept the fact that he or she is a good, decent and loveable human being and finds love for oneself that supports being alone. I know people who have been told by the doctor that they had a short time to live and they have a miraculous recovery, found themselves and the comfort that many never experience. This may have gotten a little heavy so I will not go on about the loneliness of dying but I will tell you what I started out to tell you.
In 1971, having almost died, believing all was lost, I did what all must do to live comfortably. There was a song about that time
