We welcome President-Elect Bill Clinton and Vice-President Elect A1 Gore and their families to the area on Sunday when they worship at Culpeper Baptist on their way to Washington, D.C. (Passes for the service available 9 a.m, Thursday). No matter what our political affiliation may be, we should pray for the new administration that God will give them wisdom to lead our nation. Personally, I believe it will take a return to Biblical principles upon which this nation was founded to turn us around.

I love American History and I just reviewed the videos by historian David Barton on “Education and the Founding Fathers” and “Our Godly Heritage.” The Founding Fathers were prolific writers. Some excellent resources are “Madison’s Notes of the Constitutional Convention” the “Northwest Ordinance” (requirements for a territory to become a state) and the “Federalist Papers.” It was clear “religion” meant “denomination.” They did not want the government to establish one denomination over another. The Bible was the primary text book in

schools for ma^y, njany years. The Founding Fathers based the establishment of three branches of government on Isaiah 33:22.
