One issue affects only Rappahannock. The county is now divided between two senatorial districts. Most of the county is part of the 26th district, which is represented by Sen. Kevin G. Miller of Harrisonburg. The Stonewall-Hawthorn magisterial district, however, is part of the 25th district of Sen. Edgar S. Robb of Charlottesville. Both men are willing to have the entire county moved into Sen. Miller’s district if we so desire.
Although he carried his district easily in the last election, Sen. Miller did not carry Rappahannock County. Since then he has made several visits to the county and seems much more willing to listen to our concerns. The county is probably better served if all its voters are in the same senatorial district. For that to happen the residents of StonewallHawthorn District must let Sen. Robb know.
Another hot issue before the Assembly this year will be restrictions on abortion. Should parents be notified before a minor child obtains an abortion? What other restrictions, if any, do you support? ; These men and women in the General Assembly can not represent us unless we take the time to tell them'what we think.
