Rebounds, especially offensive rebounds, are a critical part of the game of basketball. That lesson was hammered home last Friday night when the Rappahannock Panthers hosted the Strasburg Rams.
The jayvee squad picked up the tempo in the closing minutes, caused turnovers, hustled for rebounds and came from behind to win the game, 55-52. It was a good exhibition of desire, drive and teamwork on the part of the young Panther team. ' It was obvious from the start of the varsity game that the Rappahannock squad would sorely miss the leadership of senior guard Kevin Joliffe, who has been out sick for more than a week.
