LEESBURG - A group of Loudoun citizens and community organizations are planning an “I Have A Dream” march in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday on Monday, Jan. 18.
The march and celebration will include a full day of community activities and will be held in conjunction with the national observance of Dr. King’s birthday. Co-sponsors of the event are The Loudoun County NAACP, the Bluemont Concert Series and the Douglass Alumni Association.
“This a first for Loudoun County,” said Doris Johnson, who chairs the Celebration’s Organizing Committee, “but we already have considerable interest and are anticipating participation from all segments of our Loudoun community. Our goal is to involve all interested citizens in what we expect will be an annual event.”
Plans for the celebration include a community march from the Old Loudoun County Courthouse in downtown Leesburg to the Douglass
