Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. George Butler were Mr. and Mrs. Scott Keithley of New Baltimore, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gibbs, Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Butler and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Butler, all local.
At the recent meeting of the Salem Volunteer Fire Department Mr. Charles Perryman Jr. was elected chief for 1993 and also at the banquet Mrs. Maude Taylor, Fire Depart-^ ment Auxiliary president presented the department a check for $6,000 which will help greatly in the cost of construction pow underway, this being a 3,800 square foot addition. The company is made up of about 45 active members.
Congratulations to Charles Mark Powers son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Powers who won first place in state competition on the Achievement Book he penned last fall and won him a trip to Chicago for the National 4H Congress the middle of December. He was the only Culpeper County student on the trip but did meet up with some delegates of
