Chriss Powers exhibited recently at the Glenwood Park Livestock show in Loudoun County at the 4-H grounds and placed fourth in Late Junior Yearlings having entered two animals.

Belated wishes go out to Mary Mills who celebrated her birthday last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier and family were Mother’s Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Meade and were joined there by Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Jenkins of Brandy Station, Mrs. Alvin Atkins of Sperryville, Mrs. Linda Weakley and friend Gary of Ruckersville and Kenny Leavell and son Cody, local.

Gail Filyo of California, Md. spent Mother’s Day with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Wood at DunLookin and Mrs. Wood had a special treat when she received a telephone call from her great grandson, Stephen Christopher Filyo of Illinois.

In the annual Spring music concert held at Ferrum College Miss Gandy Brown performed as a drummer. This was the final concert of the academic year and Miss Brown is the daughter of Michael and Donna B. Grant, local.

Mrs. Charlie Dodson has returned home following hospitalization at University of Virginia and Blue Ridge in Charlottesville after having suffered a stroke and heart attack. Our prayers are with her for a speedy recovery.
