Festival in Sperryville

The beauty of Spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains provides the inspiration fora Memorial Day ‘Sperryville Spring Festival* which will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 20 and 20 in the village of Sperryville. The celebration features live entertainment and music, lots of food, vegetable, herb and flowering plants, special children’s activities, craft demonstrations, special antique sales and much more. The festival is sponsored by the Sperryville Business Council.

A call for entries

Artists of all ages and mediums are invited to submit work or slides of work in any medium June 12 for Middle Street Gallery’s July show honoring the Rappahannock River. There is a $10 entry fee. Three pieces may be submitted. Children do not need to pay an entry fee. The children’s work will be displayed at the Rappahannock County Library during the month of July. Accepted work should be brought to the Gallery on June 27. The work need not be for sale. If it is, the artist receives a 60 percent commission. Call 675-3440 for an entry form.

Community yard sale

There will be a community yard sale at the Viewtown Store* from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 15. Anyone interest in participating may call 937-3249. Rain date is set for May 22 at the same time.

Fashion show planned

Hospice of the Rapidan and the Orange County Hospice Volunteers will host an afternoon tea and fashion show, “Fashions for AH” on Saturday, May 22 at the Orange Presbyterian Church. Cost is $15 per person and all proceeds benefit Hospice of the Rapidan. To purchase tickets call Hospice at 825-4840.
