Members of the Water and Sewer Authority got a tour of the Sperryville sewer plant Saturday with new operator Donna Chabot as tour guide.
For two of the members present Chairman Eugene Leggett and Charles K. “Pete” Estes, it was familiar, but for member Mark Bailey it was the first time.
Ms. Chabot said for the most part operation of the plant has gone smoothly, but certain problems remain. She said on March 4 and 5 when it rained continuously for 24 hours, the plant, which is licensed for 55,000 gallons per day, ran at the rate of over 100,000 gallons per day.
She said the plant did not receive a note of violation for that incident
