The Amissville Ruritan Club will host a Softball Tournament on Sunday, May 16 at Stuart Field. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a day of fun while supporting the Ruritans. For more details call president Roger Cordani at 937-5739.

The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will hold a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, May 15. The Heavy Dreamer band will perform. Calf Sheila at 937-4357. Also, the contest is still open for queen, princess, and little princess to represent the Fire Department. To sign up, call Sandy at 937-4218.

All contestants may ride in the parade during the carnival and winners will represent the department in other parades around the area.

It’s only six w-eeks before the Fire Department’s carnival-June 2326. The parade will be held on Thursday evening, June 24. It’s not too early to begin work on that float you’ve decided to enter in the parade. Let’s work to have this the best parade ever.

Lt. Colonel Oliver North, USMC (Ret) will address the Concerned Women for America Banquet in Fredericksburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening, May 14.
