The Castleton Volunteer
Fire Company is building a new fire house on their recently purchased lot. The building is 40 by 60, made of cinder-block with a brick faced front.
The regular monthly meeting of the County Board of Supervisors was held May 1 at the Court House with all members present, Chairman J.N. Miller presiding.
Miss Barbara Jones presented her letter of resignation as Home Demonstration Agent, effective May 31, which the Board accepted with regret.
Boy Scout Troop . 65 of Sperryville took a 20-mile hike on April 21 to earn their hiking merit badge. Scouts who went were C.E. Dodson, Jackie Brown, Roy Reeve, Tim Kilby, Leslie Titchenell and Mike Brown. They were accompanied ' by Scoutmaster Sonny Brown. All were tired, but happy with their accomplishment.
