Mrs. Hoffman explained that it is possible for children weighing less than 80 pounds to ride the miniatures. but they are customarily shown on a lead line performing all sorts of feats including jumping.
They recently sold two horses to the King of Morocco, and Hilltop Stud Farm miniatures took part in the Macys’ Thanksgiving Day Parade.
This weekend the Hoffmans were enjoying the peace and quiet of their new lives as county residents. Their area of New Jersey was becoming too congested, they said, and everything outside kept getting covered with an oily film from airplanes circling above the three New York airports.
Still it was not easy to leave. Mr. Hoffman explained he had lived in the same area since 1907.
