Middle St. Gallery member Nine Moore of Sperryville has really mastered thp technique of making morning glories out of handmade paper. Her morning glory screen is a striking piece of art.
Jeff MacNellv of Flint Hill is also a member of the gallery. His bronze and barbed wire sculpture is a very appropriate piece for an art exhibit in such a rural community.
Also represented in this show is plenty of jewelry. Member Ellen Fairchild-Flugel of Woodstock displays several pieces of her sterling silver earrings and pins. Peter Melocco of Maurertown shows off his jewelry making abilities with rings, pins and earrings constructed of silver and precious stones. Kim McLaughlin’s beaded earrings can also be found here.
Jeanne Drevas’s porcelain and clay pots are very sensual in their shapes and feel.
Also included in this show are dolls by Kim McLaughlin, three stained glass pieces by Ralph Gonzalez (don’t miss the parrot); oak bird sculptures by Sandra Burton; Mexican-inspired ceramic reliefs by Kathy Walden Kaplan of Reston; mixed media collages by Suzanne Yurdin Bell of Centreville, and black-bearded wheat sculptures by Janet Kerig of Sperryville.
