NAFTA
Opposed
To the Editor:
Discussion about the North American Free Trade Agreement usually focuses on whether or not it will costs Americans their jobs, or whether or not the environment will be impacted.
These are not unimportant topics, but experts can be cited in support either side of both. Meanwhile, the most important reason for opposition to this misnamed agreement (it’s not about “free” trade but about managed trade) isn’t receiving the attention it deserves. That reason is , the threat to national sovereignty posed by NAFTA.
Advocates of a “new world order" want world government. They know better than1 most that economic union precedes political union. Their goal in having Congress approve the agreement is to pave the way toward the creation of further entanglements with other nations in . Central and South America, and then the Creation of their world government. Passage of NAFTA is a major step toward these goals.
The people of our nation have traded with the peoples of other nations in the Western Hemisphere without NAFTA for many years. But under NAFTA, everything will have to be channeled through NAFTA’s international governmental group where power will reside to’ dictate to nations and their peoples about how to conduct their business.
This isn’t freedom; it’s the cancellation of freedom. NAFTA is dangerous and Congress should soundly reject it. For more information about NAFTA and its importance to the “new world order” call me at 347-0474, or write to 381 Stuyvisant St., Warrenton, VA22186.
