It is no mystery why crime is running rampant. Criminals are not taken off of our streets when they are caught in the act, even in the case of attempted murder.

Case in point - the Reginald Denny beating. A group of men were witnessed by the world pulling an innocent man out of his truck and beating him savagely within inches of his life. A group of misguided jurists obviously swayed by the racial repercussions of a guily verdict, sent these violent, heartless dregs of society back to the streets where they will no doubt reign terror on other innocent victims. Not because they are motivated by any social or political belief, but because they know how easy it is to escape punishment.

For God’s sake, they were filmed trying to kill a man, smashing a brick into the side of his head and doing victory dances, kicking him repeatedly, and a jury with two eyes each said they were not trying to kill him. What is the word for what they were doing?

The two men who murdered Michael Jordan’s father had long records. Prisoners are using taxpayers money to sue the prisons for various rediculous complaints ranging from bad cable stations to uncomfortable footwear. Murderers are rewarded with book and movie deals.

I remember hearing the story of a man who murdered his wife in front of their children. He was found guilty and the children were awarded to the slain woman’s sister and her husband. The murderer was released from prison while the children were still children, went to court and successfully won his children back.

This lunacy has to end. I was angry beyond words when the major charges in the Denny case were dropped. We must begin writing to our congressman and senators in protest not only for the Denny case but for the current disarray that is our judicial system. Criminals need to spend time in prison before they are arrested 10 times.
