Mr. McCarthy said the supervisors will hold a public meeting on the road plan March 6. Mr. Massie said the planners could discuss it after that meeting.
Earlier Mr. Massie noted that the Agricultural Advisory Committee, appointed by the Planning Commission a few years ago, had completed its work, updating the study of the relative tax contribution and cost in services of agricultural land, and surveying farmers.
“The committee did a good job," he said. “It was set up to give us information for the Comprehensive Plan review. I thank Alex (Sharp) and everyone on the committee for their work, but the Planning Commission should not be appointing a committee to do our work for us. It takes planning two steps from the voters. I also think it’s best for the agricultural community to speak for itself.
